English Summary/英文概要： Allegra is seventeen and sometimes she gets the feeling that people see right through her. Her parents are obsessed with ageing and ignore her. Her new schoolmates leave her out. Gabriele, her much wished-for Mr Right, treats her like a little sister and seems more interested in a twenty-year-«old» university girl. Luisa is thirty-five. She works in a bank, is single, has two best girl-friends (one is a perfect wife, the other is a born spinster) and struggles under the burden of a thirty-year-term loan and a very wrong relationship with a married man.

Allegra and Luisa do not know each other but an accident is about to change their lives and bring them together. Allegra remains an orphan and Luisa loses the man she loves – Allegra’s father. After the tragedy the two meet for the first time, they become friends and support each other. Luisa does her best to act as a mother/elder sister and Allegra feels part of a family once again. Things get better and better. Allegra manages to seduce her beloved Gabriele; Luisa eventually gets over her mourning and falls in love with Giovanni, a charming forty-year-old «boy». When Luisa and Giovanni’s relationship gets serious Allegra, terrorised at the thought of being alone once again, has a fit. Things go downhill: with her absurd jealousy and foolish choices Allegra alienates all the people who love her. But true friends always remain and despite the dark period, Allegra and Luisa eventually make up. Changed, hurt but still able to be friends and finally ready – both of them! – to grow up for real.
